MEET ED NICHOLSON - LANDFOREST'S DIRECTOR

Ed was born in Cockermouth in Cumbria where his family have been involved with rural land management since a very young age. He grew up outside exploring the lakes and fells and the working land that surrounded him. Here he developed his love of the animals, birds, trees and fells that make up this wonderful part of the country.

He joined the National Trust as a 17 year old straight from School and moved to Patterdale, Cumbria. He applied for and was awarded one of only 6 apprenticeships in 1996.

Ed has previous experience of running his own business when he established Field and Forest Services in 1996.This business ran alongside his full time employment with the NT to deliver specialist sawmilling service to private companies and charitable enterprises. He was eventually persuaded to hone his skills in the private sector as Contracts Manager for Blackdown Environmental Ltd.

Five years later, looking to take on a new challenge, LandForest was born.
